Pakistan is rather a controversial state and when some foreigner hears about Pakistan, no doubt they don't present a very positive view about the Islamic State. Pakistan has been accused of terrorism multiple times and some states even tried their best to declare Pakistan as a terrorist state. When someone from a developed country, even a child hears the word "Pakistan", all the can remember is terrorism, Bin Laden, and a desert land where people live without roofs/homes. The facts are rather different. Over the course of the past couple years, Pakistan has got rid of majority of the terrorism wiping out Al-Qaeda from the most regions. It has surely made some progress and is trying to embark on a way that leads to success. 

When we take a look at the facts, we get a rather different view of Pakistan. So I decided that let's take a look at Pakistan's interesting facts.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT PAKISTAN:

1. In the last five years, Pakistan’s literacy rate has grown by 250%, the largest increase in any country to date.

2. Pakistan is the first Islamic country to attain nuclear power.

3. Edhi is running the World’s largest Ambulance network.

4. World’s youngest certified Microsoft Experts Arfa Kareem (Late) and Babar Iqbal are from Pakistan.

5. Pakistan has the sixth largest military force in the world.

6. Pakistan’s national anthem tune ranks first in the top three tunes of the world.

7. Fourth largest broadband internet system of world is in Pakistan

8.  World’s largest deep sea port is Gwadar.

9. About 50% of the world’s footballs are made in Pakistan.

10. Pakistan is notable for having one of the best trained air-force pilots in the world.

11.  Pakistan has world’s youngest civil judge, Muhammad Illyas.

12.  The highest railway station of Asia is in Pakistan.

13. First PC virus was created by two Pakistani brothers. (Maybe not something to be very proud of, but it still might have required an impressive level of intellect to do so).

14. Dr. Abdus Salam – Nobel prize winner (Physics 1979).

15. LUMS (Lahore University of Management Sciences) attracts students from Middle East, the Far East, Central Asia, and other parts of South Asia.

16. Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, hailed as the most important Qawwali singer of the 20th century and received many awards around the globe such as The “Legends” award at the UK Asian Music Awards (2005).

17. World’s 7th largest Pool of Scientists and Engineer.

18. The Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad can accommodate almost 100,000 worshipers. Completed in 1976, it could at that time probably hold the city’s entire population.

Karakoram Highway runs through the northern areas connecting Pakistan with China’s Xingjiang province is often described as ” Eighth Wonder of the World” due to the marvel of civil engineering as it has taken 15 years to complete by the Pakistan Army Engineers in collaboration with China. It’s been labeled as ” World’s highest paved international Road” under world’s toughest terrain.

20. Air Commodore MM ALAM (Late) has a world record of shooting down 5 planes in less than a Minute.

21. The world's 26th largest economy is of Pakistan.

22. Pakistan has the world's seventh largest standing military to be proud of.

23. Actually, independence officially occurred at midnight on the night of August 14-15. Originally August 15 was celebrated as Independence Day.

24. Pakistan has the sixth-largest population in the world, exceeded only by China, India, the United States of America, Indonesia and Brazil.

25. A baby is born in Pakistan every seven seconds.

26. From 1997-2008, Pakistan held the record for the world’s tallest cake, with a 105ft-high monster. This was overtaken in 2008 by a 108ft cake in Indonesia.

27. Pakistan has not won a medal at the summer Olympics since 1992 when it won a hockey bronze.

28. Pakistan is the world’s second-largest producer of chickpeas behind India.

29. The name Pakistan means ‘land of the pure’ in Persian and Urdu.

30. In 1979 Abdus Salam won Pakistan’s only Nobel Prize by sharing the physics award.

Every time an act of terror or shooting occurs, Muslims closely watch the news with extreme trepidation praying that the suspect is not Muslim. This is not because these terrorists are likely to be Muslim but rather because in the instances where they happen to be, we see amplified mass media coverage and extreme unjustified hatred towards Muslims.

It is just a propaganda and nothing else and Muslims are being the victims of this propaganda. It is true that mostly the terrorism acts of much larger scale that gain the popularity all over the world are committed by the so called Muslims who are not even Muslims. 

Now one thing should be made clear that, Al-Qaeda and Daesh and all other such groups that tend to call them perfect Muslims and make themselves appear as strict shariat-following persons but if we dig deeper and have a factual look at them, they are not even close to being the slightest of Muslim. Most of them don't even know how to say the First Kalma (A statement that needs to be acknowledged by heart in order to become a Muslim) correctly.

Quraan does not, in any way, support any such acts of terrorism, so how can these terrorists be Muslims when the don't even follow the principles of Islam.
As a Muslim, I am tired of condemning terrorist attacks being carried out by inherently violent people who hijack my religion. I am tired of condemning these attacks to people who are calm and apathetic when Muslims are killed by these same radicalized terrorists.

1. Non-Muslims make up the majority of terrorists in the United States

2. Non-Muslims make up the majority of terrorists in Europe

3. Even if all terrorist attacks were carried out by Muslims, you still could not associate terrorism with Islam

4. If all Muslims are terrorists, then all Muslims are peacemakers
5 Out of the past 12 Nobel Price Peace Winners are Muslims.

Let's Make Peace, Not War

Look around you. Observe the world you are living in. Can you feel the beating of a thousand desperate hearts? Can you see the fear for tomorrow in the looks of people? Can you hear the cries of a thousand mothers who are losing their children each day?

Now ask yourself, is this the place where you always wanted to live? Is this the place where each child expects to grow up when they open their innocent eyes and see the world for the first time? Are you able to look in the eyes of those children without the feeling of shame for this reality full of evil, which they have to face? Is this what we have prepared for them throughout centuries and years?

We cannot deny the simple truth that we were the ones who have been constantly shaping this reality. But another simple truth is that it is not too late to change something. We can make this world a better place if we try. So why not to create good instead of evil? Why not to make peace instead of war? Why not to spread love and compassion instead of hate and arrogance?

No one is born with evil within. We are born, filled with love towards everyone and everything around us. But instead of just following our hearts full of light, we keep feeding ourselves with darkness over and over again. When did we stop to judge people by their personality and started to consider the color of their skin? What urged us to acknowledge someone as an enemy just because of the place they were born in? Isn’t Earth the only place all of us were born in? Are the borders that someone has drawn on the map powerful enough to build in our souls the borders of prejudice, alienating us from each other? Yes, they are! As long as we let them be. As long as we teach our children to let them be powerful enough.

When the world and this life are nearly destroyed by the evil and hate we spread, we would hardly care about the power we have towards others. We would hardly care about the God others are praying for, as long as those prayers can give us a chance to survive. So why won’t we stop caring about it right now, at this very moment? Why won’t we start making this world a better place by creating peace and compassion? And finally, why won’t we earn the right to look at our children’s eyes with the feeling of pride for the world we have built for them?

Think about these questions and, no doubt, you will find the answers. Because the answers to those questions are buried deep inside each one of us. And we will discover those answers as soon as we dispel the dust of evil and hate from our hearts...
